Creative teams and business development teams want the same thing. They just describe it differently. Here's what I've seen work when you get them on the same page.
1. Speak their language
Each side should learn enough of the other's world to translate. Creatives can frame ideas in measurable terms, and the business side can learn to protect what makes an idea special.
2. Collaborate on purpose
Pair the visionary with the operator. Think Steve Jobs and Tim Cook. Big ideas need someone who can make them run.
3. Tell stories with a purpose
When creative work ties directly to business goals, a campaign can move people emotionally and move the numbers too. Nike has been proving that for decades.
4. Measure what matters
Agree on metrics both sides respect. Connect engagement and brand perception to real outcomes like leads and conversions.
5. Find strength in unity
A shared vision and clear common goals turn people with very different backgrounds into one team.
